Flame Wire Spraying
This method involves spraying a metal in wire form onto a surface using a flame generated by an oxy-acetylene torch. The metal wire, which has a melting point below the flame temperature, is fed into the nozzle of the spray gun. As it passes through the nozzle, the wire is melted by the flame and atomized by high-pressure air, then sprayed onto the target surface.

Flame Powder Spraying
Micronized alloy powders are injected into an oxy-acetylene flame and sprayed onto the surface in a vacuum-assisted process. Since the temperature of the part remains below 200°C during coating, this is considered a “cold process.”
Flame temperature: ~3300°C
Bonding: Mechanical
Coating thickness: 0.05 – 2.5 mm (depending on material and geometry)
Adhesion strength: 600–1000 PSI
Surface roughness: 10% – 20%

HVOF (High Velocity Oxy-Fuel)
In the HVOF process, fuel gases (such as Propane, MAP, Propylene, or Hydrogen) are continuously combusted with oxygen in a high-pressure chamber. The fuel pressure typically ranges from 60 to 90 PSI. This controlled combustion generates a high-speed flame that enables the creation of dense and hard coatings.
Flame temperature: 2500 – 3000°C
Particle velocity: 350 – 1000 m/s
Adhesion strength: Higher than plasma spraying
Coating thickness: 0.05 – 1.5 mm (depending on application)
